What to do while waiting for acceptances ?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Recently, I've mapped out all of the prerequisites that I need to transfer to a nursing program. I'll hopefully finish by the end of my CC's Summer Intermission Session in 2015 if everything goes as planned. Now, all that is left after that are the applications to the schools and their programs. I'm curious as to what people typically do to fill out the next several months of waiting.

Did you work and volunteer? Or, did you continue to take college classes? I'm thinking that I'll do the first option, considering my financial situation, but I'd love to hear some of your input! ^^;

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.

I personally worked, but I had to, so that and my family (I'm a mom) were my main focuses.

I just finished up my pre-req for my ADN program and applied. The wait list is a year. After Nursing school, I plan on finishing my BSN online, over time. In order to take classes, I will need to finish the pre-req for the program, which will also finish the requirement for the AA Degree at my school. I hope to get a job in the hospital or volunteer and only take classes part time. Since I only need 5 classes to finish my AA. This will also help to defer my Student Loans.

Specializes in ICU.

I don't have to work so I won't through nursing school. But I also know I am one of the lucky ones. Many people in my shoes would have to work. All of my prereqs and coreqs are done so all I have to do in the fall is concentrate on nursing school. That was my goal and I did it. I think it really depends on the financial situation and family situation. I am also a mom and have had to line up people to be able to watch my child if need be because I am a single mom and have my child most of the time.
