What motivated you to become an rn

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I always had a passion for medicine ever since I was a little girl. I used to watch trauma: life in the er lol. I dreamt about becoming either a neurologist or a trauma surgeon. Instead of me going straight to college after high school I enlisted in the marine corps I finally started back school in 2009 but took a year and a half off in 2011 due to me getting pregnant and having my son. I told myself once I had my son that I was going to complete my dreams of helping others and pursue nursing. I plan on furthering my education to either become a np or a crna. Hopefully I will be starting nursing school in jan 14 after I finish my prerequisite. So what motivated you

I too use to watch all those shows, I wouldn't miss an episode. Over the years when I had my children I always had such wonderful and caring nurses and they have inspired me to want to become one. I feel that I could make a difference in someone's life. Tonite while at the hospital one of my family members passed away and one nurse in particular was very compassionate the whole time and that really makes me push myself to become an RN.

I grew up with my ailing grandmother and was able to experience the medical field by her side. The most helpful people were always the nurses. The impact they left on me helped shape me to be the person I am today. Her memory is what drives me every day!
