I recently took the pre entrance NLN nursing exam for the Christ Hospital School of Nursing RN program November 5th 2011. I got my score the same day, but I was just wondering what was an accepatable score for their program is. I did some reasearch and found out some colleges around New Jersey accept students who got above 50% in all three subject areas, which I did, while other's say they accept's students who got above a 70% in the composite score which I also did. It would really help if someone know what the accpetable score is so if I didnt achieve that score I could take the S.A.T. instead since they accept those also. If anyone have any kind of information about this, it would definitly help! Thanks

Ok well I have contacted christ hospital and was notifies that the decision letters will be mail out by the end of this month so im praying mine have some good news...but if anybody have any information that could help, that would will be appreciated :-)

Is there still a test available? I contacted the school and they told me that they are still posting test dates. As of this morning, I haven't seen any.

Good luck to all!

I also heard someone say they will be posting some dates for december and January but I can't be certain about when it will be posted or wat dates it will be...are you already studying for it?, what book are you using? and you do know u can take your s.a.t.'s which is less expensive and probably way easier than the nln exam, but I understand if you want to still take it. Good luck whenever you take it though, and I would say the most important thing when you study is to time yourself because that's the biggest complaint i heard most people say and also if you dont know it, you can skip it and come back and it will probably make more sense but if it dont just guess it becuase they dont penalize you for wrong answers they just count the right answers. Good luck to you again and if I hear anything about new dates I will definetly post it on this thread

JerseyGirl6,

I had no clue we can take our S.A.T's --I thought if we had already it can be waived, no idea it's an option. Well, no I haven't studied for it but I just took the HESI for another school. I've taken the NLN PAX PN and they say it is the same for the RN except the score. Thank you so much for your advice and thorough writing!! :monkeydance: You are so appreciated! I just checked again and nothing.

Your welcome and no problem, I would hope someone would give me a response like that also so I try to give as much info as I can to help a fellow future nurse going something similiar to me lol. But yeah I believe you can take your S.A.T. instead of the nln exam or over again to get a better score if you already taken the S.A.T. and they even tell you what scores are acceptable! I just wish they would tell me what nln exam scores are also acceptable so I won't be stressing about it. And also if you go on their website and email the representatives from christ hospital school of nursing they are pretty good responding to emails and one of them actually told me I could call them if I have any questions, so are you attending husdon county community college also? How far are you in finishing your pre-req's? I havent but did you apply to any other schools?

Awww, thanks! I am the same way. I have done all my pre-reqs at Bergen Community College and have taken the HESI to get into their RN Program for the January admission. Currently, I'm attending Union County College to establish a GPA to get into their Trinitas Program for the January admission. They do not have any pre-testings like the TEAS or PAX RN. It's been changed now where it's a simple one page form to fill out regarding one's credits and grades. Although I applied to Christ I do not got to Hudson. Also, I was told by a Christ student that actually works for the school that you needed a 50% to pass the NLN. Don't get so hung up about the score or what you need to pass and do your best. I know it's nerve wrecking but we can do it. I learned not to put all my eggs in one basket and I suggest the same to everyone.

Omg!...thanks for the info....and your so right I've been thinking its soley on the score but its also is about your grades recommendation letters and personal satement so hopefully my letter comes with good news. And you sound real passionate and determined with nursing, I really hope you get into the program, but which one is your number 1 choice cause I only applyied to christ being that I live here in jersey city and didn't want to travel or pay for an out of county school. As for me I will be done with all my pre reqs after the spring 2012 semester and If I don't get into nursing school I'm going to apply for my social work masters program which is only a year since I already have my BA in social work....welll I know I wrote your eyes out so good luck again and I'll keep checking thst site for any more test dates...two eyes are better than one ;)

You are so sweet and full of positive energy! I love it! They definitely look at all angles and they look at how many courses you've taken at Hudson. For that reason, I am taking classes at Union to establish a gpa. Boy I tell you, you name it I've done it! I am trying so hard to be accepted and taking credits everywhere. Don't be discouraged...if nursing is what you really want then go for it. Never give up! At times we all get discouraged but we can't succumb to negativity. I love the idea of social work too because you are helping people for the better and making better choices.

Thanks and I won't get discouraged and I plan on getting both my masters in social work and nursing so I can open a clinic for the developmental disabled population...after working in this field for over a year now I feel I could contribute in a big way by doin that so no mater what I'm going to keep moving forward...

Keep up the positive flow! You are so inspirational!! What do you do if you don't mind me asking?
