Waitlisted for Nursing School at LUC... What Now?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just submitted my intent to enroll to Loyola University of Chicago's BSN program, and it was due May 1st. I didn't realize that the program was rolling admission (stupid, I know) so of course I was wait listed I'm feeling very helpless and I don't know what my options are. Is there any chance that I can still get into the program this fall? Or is there at least any way that I can still become an RN at Loyola without the nursing program? Any and all suggestions or words of kindness are welcome at such a stressful time!

Can you find out where you are on the list? And how many are wait listed, and how many they usually take off the waitlist? I just went to a meeting for those of us waitlisted at UTA and they were really upfront with the numbers. I was surprised to hear that 12 people that were accepted into the program had failed Pharm or Patho this spring and will be unaccepted.

Knowing the numbers might help keep your hope up and your phone at full volume. Good luck

I agree with the above poster. I would contact someone and ask them where you're at on the list. One of my friends was wait listed and she ended up getting in for that next semester. She was telling me that so many people end up dropping out before they start and also drop out the first few days, just because they realize they can't handle it or don't want to be a nurse. If for some reason you don't get into it this time, take a couple of extra classes, that will not only benefit you as a nurse, but also help your gpa. Don't give up!
