Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Has anyone just been admitted to the BSN online program at UTA? I wanted to know how is the program? How is it taking the online classes? Is it possible to get A's in the pre requisites if I work full time and take these classes part time? I just submitted An application. I don't know if I'll get accepted yet, but I wanted some feed back!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am finishing my pre-requisites at UTA Online this semester. So far everything has been very doable, even working full-time. But even when I took 5 classes last semester (AP II, MicroBio, Lifespan, Intro Soc, and Intro Nursing) I had 3 classes at a time. 2 5-8 week classes and 1 full semester class. This semester I have 3, (Med term, Patho, and Pharm) which the 2 big ones are 12 weeks overlapping, and it will be a lot of work with school.

A friend of mine graduated from the program last year, and said do not think online means slack off. It is more demanding than in class because you have to study entirely on your own. If you are the type of person who can been dedicated to studying and have good time management it should not be an issue. However, even she said once the program starts not to work full-time. It is very demanding.

Thanks so much for your response. You really gave me a lot of info that I needed. I just sent my transcript and did my financial aid. I'm hoping I get through, because I had a lot of stress when I was doing my bachelors and I didn't manage my time and stress well, so my GPA was very poor. I'm praying that I get accepted.

Were you science major before this? How were the labs for biology, micro, A&P?

I was a science major. I only retook AP II (I had originally taken it without a lab) and took Micro at UTA. The A&P labs are just viewing atlas documents and looking online in the textbooks materials that have human and pig cadaver slides. The Micro labs were kind of fun. There was an interactive LearnSmart and so you got to do all the same processes without the wait time or clean up!

Oh that's great! Im excited. I can't wait to know if I will get accepted. I'm just worried about my GPA. I'm below a 2.5.

You only now applied to the general admission for the school correct?

Yes. I appl to the BSN program. I Willa need to take the preqisite first, befo I can apply to the nursing program

All the best to you too. I hope you will get into the nursing program.

How long did they take to let you know if you were accepted to start taking the prerequisites?

Thank You!

So funny story, I was admitted less than 2 weeks after the date I requested my final transcript from a previous university. I only found out because I received an email regarding my campus email. It may take a little longer now because of the timing. While the admissions office handles the general admission and the nursing school handles the upper division, there is only one registrar and records office to handle all verification requests and process transcripts.

Also, one you are told the transfer credit evaluation is ready, do not even bother looking at it. It is pointless and will stress you out. The advisor you get assigned to will contact you via uta email with tons of information. Additionally, they will prepare a "Degree Evaluation Plan" that is actually the nursing pre-req file. It's easier to read, navigate, and breaks down all of your calculated GPA's, etc.

Thank you so much. I got confirmation from FedEx that my transcript was delivered on Tuesday, so I'm waiting to see if I hear anything soon.
