I am looking into the Texas A&M nursing program at college station. Here is what I do know. It is a young program at College Station and it takes about 100 students a year. My question is how hard is it to get into this program? Also are they starting to take more students into the program or not?

Hey - It's A&M. VERY selective. Highly competitive. Nursing is an 'expensive' program for any school due to all the accreditation requirements and limitations on faculty:student ratio, shortage of qualified faculty & inability to attract the grant funding that characterizes other departments .... so I would say it is very unlikely that they are going to increase the program size.

You should still consider applying. I am an A&M grad and just recently applied to there fast track nursing program and got in! I almost didn't apply because I didn't think I would make it but I did. I never hurts too apply. They accept 42 students from the fast track program and half are in college station while the other half are in round rock (outside of austin). I hope this helps a little!

I have a 4.00 GPA and satisfy all 60 credit hours that are required for the program, I got a 90 on my HESI and I was still waitlisted... It is extremely competitive. I'm starting to think it is close to impossible for a transfer student. I would recommend attending the university and then applying as a internal applicant. Transfer spaces are extremely limited.
