Switching to a career in Nursing....

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I have recently graduated from a private university with a BS in exercise phys and have opted out of going to PA/PT/OT/Chiro school.I feel that it is just not the right fit for me. I have a accumulated a substantial amount of debt so far and looking to start over with a new career. I am currently a phlebotomist at a local hospital and work side-by-side with nurses, resp. therapists, and M.D's so I have a decent understanding of what the career entails. I have a passion for helping others and I think this might be a great move for me. I know that my local community college offers a Associates degree in nursing and requires the HESI test upon admission into their program. I am looking for any advice for the months to come regarding application process, testing, schooling, or any other insight regarding nursing as a career! Thanks!

I just graduated from an ADN program in May. I too have a BA in another field that was not the right fit. So I went back to school and never looked back. It was sooooooo hard!!!!! But if you have a support system and the want to do it, you can!!!!!! I dont know where you live but right now jobs are hard to come by. The economy will change again and there will be jobs again. Good Luck!!!!!!!
