Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I need schools out of state, I am from NYC and I cant seem to catch a break out here, I am getting really tired and discouraged.

How far are you willing to move? Do you have a high GPA? Why are you having trouble in NY? Are you looking for ASN or BSN? There are a lot if good schools but it all depends in what you are looking for and why

at this point I dont care my gpa is high but in my liberal arts degree.... and most of my sciences are As and Bs but I got an f in chem and a C in nutri. and it brought me down to a 2.76... I am lost now... I really want a bsn because i already have a AAS but I will take ADN if i can get in... unfortunately I cant seem to pass entrance exams

I would def retake those classes if you can. I dropped out during nutrition, A&p I and psych and took Fs but I retook A&p I and psych and got As in them. I'll be taking nutrition next semester.

I took general chem in my community college and got an A- but I hate the fact that colleges will see 'that F... I also have a feeling that I am calculating my gpa wrong... it may be higher or lower I don't know

I made an F in a Creative Writing class (in 2006, I was young and carefree and never went to class) I retook it and got an A but the BSN programs I'm applying to calculate all attempts at classes leaving my otherwise high GPA at a 3.27. School are super competitive for nursing for the pure fact that right now everyone wants to go into the field and there just aren't enough schools to allow that to happen. I think a few new nursing schools are opening up in 2014, you may want to try them and until then maybe try applying to private schools?

where? and is that definite? did you get into a program yet

I applied for the Spring 2014 BSN program at my state university. I have a really good TEAS score, lots of work experience (I owned my own company for 6 years), as well as what I think to be an overall strong application. The school I'm applying to looks as applicants holistically and applicants are admitted based on if they are better than the other applicants of the cycle. I feel confident and optimistic.

what state are u in?
