School lost my transcripts and denied admission?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I submitted my application to a nursing school in the middle of September, and my scores were pretty good, so I was feeling pretty good about it. Fast forward to October 13th when I opened my email and was surprised to see I had been denied by the school. I decided to call and find out what I could do to improve my chances of getting in for the Fall semester. One of the people in the nursing office said that my scores were excellent, but that they didn't consider me because my admissions application was incomplete. She said that they never received my high school transcripts (but they had received all of my college transcripts).

I informed her that I physically dropped off the transcripts myself a few days before submitting the application. She said that she would look into it and call me back. So, they ended up finding my transcripts and she said (about a week ago) that she would call me before the end of the day to let me know more information. I never received a call. I called the next day and she said that she was still working on it and would let me know as soon as they had a resolution. I still have not received a call, and now when I try and call them, it just goes to their voicemail.

I'm sad that it wasn't anything I did that prevented me from getting into nursing school. I did everything that I was required to do on my end. I still am holding on to some hope that someone will decline and they will offer me their spot but I'm also trying to not get my hopes up because I don't want to be disappointed again. This waiting is killing me and part of me thinks that they're never going to call me back, because every time she has said she will call me in x amount of time, she never does. I just want to know already if I will be in nursing school this spring or not :c

This is basically just me ranting at this point and i'm sorry. I'll be done now!

I am so sorry this has happened to you!

None of it was your fault because you did exactly what had to be done in order to apply for the program. I wouldn't call the school anymore, i would actually go in person and be assertive about what had happened and that it isn't fair for them to deny your application after they were the ones at fault. Nothing gets done over the phone or email. If you really want to get in this spring, you should go see them in person!
