Rankings for Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew about the best Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN programs. Is there a ranking in US News and Weekly Report like the other programs? I'm not sticking to the rankings too much, I'm just trying to get a feel for what the reputations are for some of the top schools.

In addition, does anyone have any suggestions about scholarships for Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN - either through the school or outside of the school? I know Georgetown has one, but I don't really want to go there...

Thanks in advance!

same question here! (which schools are top-rated; not necessarily on lists though.) will be watching this thread for any replies. :)

No, there is no such ranking. US News & World Report ranks nursing schools/programs in general and also ranks by specialty at the graduate level.

Each school offering an ABSN program will offer varied scholarship funding (if any), you would need to contact the school directly for this information.

Ditto to what Asherah said.

^^ Here are the graduate nursing school rankings which may or may not correlate to the rep of an accelerated BSN program at the same school.

I don’t care about rankings myself. I’m getting my ADN from community college then transferring to a state u with a grad program that appears to be in the top 150. ☺

And definitely check out the programs you're interested in for financial aid availability. Sometimes scholarships are listed on the department website. Other times it isn't but all you have to do is fill out fafsa and see what happens. I know people who don't bother with fafsa because they think they make too much money. Don't assume that just. Fill out the form anyway - not all financial aid is need based and you might be surprised at what's available.

Some of the state forums have links to the lists of the % of students that passed the NCLEX. Again, it's not linked by the program, just institution, and most have more than one program.

I'm also starting to wonder how to pay for my Accelerated program ($33,200+ fees, etc at University, ranked 115 from that link of grad schools, but seems to be the top school for passing the NCLEX in PA). The idea of taking out 40k in loans to cover fees is worrying me.
