Hello my question is I am new to HCC this has been my first year and I have gotten a c in English from a previous college which is on my transcripts however HCC have not processed my transcripts I was wondering if I take it this semester and get a b or.higher wip they switch out my c from my previous college and use there's or will it not matter?? Help I would like to know before I attempt to take it again.

At my school they took the grade from the college I was currently attending. Which was actually a lower grade than my previous campus, but that's a long story lol oops! :banghead:

Oh man I'm retaking my English class 1101 that I got a c in and if I can at least get a b this time around I will be super excited about that

Be careful with retakes. The school of nursing assicated with my college deducts points from your profile score (points given based on your grades and such that determine whether or not you get admitted) if you retake a class. That retake counts against you for five years. Your school might be different so you should look at their requirements or go talk to their advisor.

When you are asked to produce transcripts, you must produce ALL transcripts. Your English grade of C will be there; whether the school of nursing you apply to in the future considers that is a different question. Sometimes a course that is repeated for a better grade only has the better grade considered. Sometimes, as the PP just mentioned, a repeated course works against you. After all, someone who got poor grades initially and repeated them all for good grades is typically not equally matched against an applicant who got the good grades first time through, and only one time.

Know what you need from the schools you are interested in, and go from there.

Thanks none of my previous college transcripts have shown up yet at Hillsborough so if i can retake English and get say an A it doesn't hurt to try buy I may just keep the c if in the long run its going to hurt me I will probably talk to someone. If I get all A's in the remaining classes I should still be able to finish with at least a 3.5

I contacted my school today and they told me that it is fine to replace a grade that is better if I took it somewhere else since my transcripts have to be put in manually and that it wont penalize me unless i take it more than twice.
