Podcasting lectures at UTHSC-H

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I was toodling around UT's SON website and found something pretty neat. They are going to start Podcasting some courses in the nursing programs and eventually start Podcasting all of them. I thought this was a pretty neat idea!! It would be pretty cool to be able to just download a lecture to your ipod after class, listen to in the car or wherever you happen to be chillin, and keep it cataloged with your music. Such a space saver!! No more mini tapes to keep up with or low batteries ruining your recordings in class. What do yall think?

Great that they are entering the 21st century.

I plan to apply at UTHCS next spring.

I record lectures in some classes onto my MP3 player. I then listen in the car, where ever. It's so interesting how much I miss the first go around in class because I'm trying to get all the notes down, thinking about what an instructor just said, etc. This has definately helped me in a huge way.

Specializes in Pain Management.

The beauty of podcasts is that they bypass the limitations of using an iPod to record the lectures. I tried that once and the sound quality was absolutely horrible (BTW, the best recorder for class is a sony mini-disk player).

If they record the lectures with good equipment, then they can make it into a high quality podcast. If you use an iPod to record your lectures, it sounds like crap.

I'm not using an iPod. I'm using my Creative Zen Sleek MP3 player. It's 20 GB and has a microphone. The sound quality of the lectures I record is fantastic. :roll
