Hello, I am currently doing my pre-req at miami dade college for RN and wanted to gain some exprrience in a hospital setting while in school. I've been told to try PCT or medical assistant courses but, I'm not Sure which one would be a better choice. Also, is miami lakes tech a Good school for either PCT or medical assistant? Any advice would be really helpful thnx..

I am sure this is different in each area, but I live in South Florida as well and work in a hospital. They do not hire MA's at my facility. I think MA's are pretty much used in doctors offices and such. So if you want hospital experience then go for PCT. With your PCT certification you can work in a hospital, gain tons of experience, and maybe even get hired on as a nurse after you graduate. Just my 2cents. Good luck with whichever you choose!
Thank you so much, its just hard finding a school that offerers PCT classes that aren't private schools

Agreed, PCT will allow you to gain valuable experience and connections in the hospital setting.
