My chances?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone, so I've been thinking about if my grades for the pre-reqs are good enough to be accepted into the nursing program at my school.

Here they are,

A&P I - B

PSY - A

SOC - A

ENG - A-

Then I also took A&P II and got a B+. I'll be taking Physics, Chemistry and Math this upcoming semester, then I think I'll be somewhat ready for the entrance exam. It's all mostly going to depend on the exam since my school nursing program is very competitive.

Let know know what you guys thinkk please..Need some feedback and motivation I guess lol..

First off, congrats on your grades! With my school, it just depends on what the average GPA is that year for people applying. We're also very competitive.

I'm going to tell you this from experience, take EVERYTHING you hear with a grain of salt. I was freaking out whenever I was studying for my HESI A2 exam. My GPA wasn't very good compared to some people that were already in the nursing program. I was terrified.

One day at the gym one of my friends introduced me to someone she knew who was already in her second year of nursing school. I was looking for some reassurance from someone who had been through the acceptance process and had experienced the stress everyone does. I told her my gpa and she was like "...oh, well you don't sound like a very good candidate...its VERY competitive, but..um, best of luck"

I'm pretty sure I went home and cried over it.

I studied my cheeks off for the hesi exam. And I'm pretty sure her comment fueled that fire.

Passed it with flying colors and I'm happy to say I start level 2 in January.

Whatever you hear, whether people tell you "its simple" or "its competitive", know that you can do it.

Prepare yourself, give everything you have, and turn in that application knowing that you gave it your all.

Most importantly, believe in yourself.

Let me know how everything goes! :)
