Microbiology at Ocean county college

you can purchase a used textbook; however you must purchase the labpaq from the bookstore or HolScience. You are required to provide a receipt to the instructor. The kit is I believe $409 and the microscope with oil immersion lens is an additional $180. The class cost an additional $1100 so in all I end up spending about $1800 after the book purchase for one online class is it even worth it?

Considering a class at a community college is $500-800 or so Id say no. Plus you have to pay out of state tuition if not in ocean county, and an online/distance learning fee. Not to mention having to culture various microorganisms in your home... Not an ideal situation if you have curious children at home.

I need the occ micro book cheap it's expensive for that class and the labpaq and microscope I had to get seperate costing about $500 on top of the $1100 I already spent for tuition

Chegg is still about 90$ 55$ average everywhere else I'm just looking if someon knows where to find one cheaper

Why in the world did your program make you buy/rent a microscope?! That is insane. Your campus should be equipped with them! The book new, looks to run roughly $200. The lowest price I found was about $55 from some sites but that looks like a renting price. I don't think you will find it for much lower than that. Is there a previous edition of the book? You can try to find that instead. It might be missing certain things or have a different organization but usually not much changes. At least not to where you can't just google something or it will alter your grade any.

Here is the third edition. They have a "loose leaf" copy that seems to be selling as used for about $30. Hope that helps you!.

It's an online course. Take the class on campus and you don't need the lab pack or microscope. On campus sciences are 1/2 the price at this school

Because I work and there are no night microbiology classes

Okay so for OCC's Online microbiology I just purchased my labpaq for 350 plus my microscope for 216 and spent 33 for an old addition of the book which the total cost is 599 for Ocean County College I would have dropped the class but I already spent 1100 for it and the one at my current school is closed so I had to follow through with the total coat of the class eek I sure hope it's worth it as much as I paid
