Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I'm hoping to get accepted into the nursing program at UFV in Chilliwack, BC, Canada and I'm not quite sure everything I should be studying for the interview. It's a huge part of getting accepted into the program and I'm really nervous and could use some tips!? Thanks!

The interview you will have is like any other job interview. It will probably follow same routine:

1. Tell us about yourself. I do believe here they do not want to hear what is already mentioned in your CV/resume. Speak about your character, experiences, challenges.

2. Why nursing? What inspired you to pursue education/career in nursing? Be short and sweet. Nobody wants to hear a soap opera.

3. Why us? Why nursing program at UFV? I would suggest that you do some research on the school's school of nursing. Make sure to connect your beliefs/strengths/interests with those of the nursing school.

4. Speak of a challenge you overcame and what you learned from it. Even though it sounds negative, think of a way to turn it into a positive.

5. There might be a scenario based question.

6. What makes you a unique student? Why should be accept you into out competitive nursing program? If they do ask you this question, do not repeat anything you already mentioned. It is a tough one.

7. Do you have any questions for us? Here, you can ask questions pertaining to clinicals, anything that not apparent and not available on their website or by calling.

Good luck!

Great stuff! Thanks!
