I think I left my immunizations too late.. how much did I mess up?

Hi all! My first day is the 4th, and they suggest having all immunizations done two weeks after the start date. I booked my first appointment this coming Thursday.

I know, I'm kicking myself too. The reason being, I work at a heavily populated back-to-school store with not so understanding managers. I work 9-5 Mon-Fri every week, it was hard enough getting two consecutive days off for first aid. They wouldn't flex with my schedule, sadly.

Anyway; how badly will this hinder my chances of getting into a good placement? Thanks for taking the time to read!

They generally won't allow you into a clinical setting without having all of your immunizations squared away so if your clinical rotations start immediately it might be an issue. If you know you're going to miss the deadline I'd call/email your program director or clinical instructor and see what they say - hopefully they'll be willing to work with you.

All immunizations must be done, except for the 2nd and 3rd round of Hep B. Most places will let you slide on that as long as you've started them, since it takes so long to finish the series.

If you don't have them done before clinicals at my school they will not let you continue, except for the 2nd and 3rd round of the hep vaccine.

I guess it depends on how strict your program is? What do you mean "good placement?" are not all clinical placements good? I wouldn't stress to much about it, you'll have plenty of other more important things to stress about!
