I have no idea what path to take for finish school!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am 22, a single mother, who works 8-5 monday thru friday! I have taken a few classes on and off since I graduated high school. I really want to finish school with a BSN. Can someone please give me some tips and guidance for what prgoram to get into that allows me to work and go to school?!?

I don't know of any nursing program where you can go to work 8-5pm and attend classes. I don't even think many people in nursing school attempt to work due to how rigorous the coursework is. If you really need to work FT, I would look at becoming a nursing assistant at a hospital where you can work 12hr shifts 3 days per week. You will be dog tired between work and school/studying but I have seen it done.

I'd look at the nursing school programs you're interested in, and start knocking those pre-requisites out. I did a lot of pre-req's online, which helped a ton.

The in person classes I have to take, I've been taking in the evening.

Once nursing school hits, everything will change, obviously.

The suggestion above is a good one - work for the hospital. Some places even help with tuition!
