How important is it for a school to be NLNAC accredited?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I applied to 6 different community colleges and so far i have been accepted to Glendale Community College and Los Angeles City College. I decided to attend GCC because it is closest to me (5-10 minute ride) but it is not NLNAC Accredited. It is however, accredited by the CA state board of registered nursing. I know of someone who went to GCC and was hired with their associates at the hospital here in Glendale. I also know of many other students who continue to get hired. I plan on joining the collaborative program with CSULA where i get to go to CSULA for my BSN after I get my RN license and CSULA is accredited by CCNE...I was just wondering if the ADN program is not accredited by NLNAC but the BSN is accredited by CCNE will I still be limited to finding jobs or will the CCNE accreditation work?
