I've become VERY good at this, as I've applied to countless schools. Go to the school's web page to which you're applying and find the Academic Catalog. Then, under Academic Regulations, the school's grading scale will be listed (+/- or not, and the corresponding grade points). Use their scale for grade points, multiply the grade points time the hours for that course. Total the hours, and grade points separately, and divide the points by hours. If you're transferring, or doing a 2nd degree, look at the general ed requirements in the catalogue, those will be the only ones used in the calculation of your GPA for THAT school. Hope that helps!
