Help BIO and Chem classes

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Ok I think I kind of did my prereqs a little off. I only have science classes remaining. I am taking Gen Biology in the summer 8 weeks and a PE online class 2 credits bc I need the credits for a student loan. I was going to take the Chem in 8 weeks but they cancelled the class due to low enrollment. But after finishing Gen Bio, I will them have chem, a&p 1&2, and microbiology remaining. I have heard that it is not advisable to take two science together. But if I dont I can only take 1 class a semester. summer, fall, spring, summer, fall. Is it possible to take Chem in conjunction with A&p I for a 16 week course? or do you see any other options I may have to shorten the time? I have finished all other prereqs and trying to maintain my 4.0. I will also be working a 40 hour workweek, married, with children 2nd and 4th grade. Thanks in advance.

There's always a chance to be successful taking multiple science classes at once, a young woman at my school just took ochem and A&p2 together for her last semester, but I never have. 1 at a time is what I did and most people I know did. I'm also a mom.

I've taken 1-3 other classes with my sciences but never 2 sciences.

Maybe you can Try taking 1 the first semester and then Add more the next semester of you feel your schedule allows for all of the studying necessary.

Look beyond the prerequisites. Have you taken sociology, psychology? Take another class of the one you had easier time in. There's also communication, art history, art appreciation, music appreciation, religion, anthropology.

Good day:

If you have a passion and love for the sciences, are disciplined and organized, then two or more sciences at one time is very possible; hard, but possible. Given that you work 40 hours a week, are married with children, it's still doable... but I'm not sure where you would find the time. Last semester I took AP2, Microbiology, Nutritional Science (that was actually harder than both AP2 and Microbiology, individually), and Life Cycle Development. By the end of the semester, my brain felt sore. I spent 8 to 12 hours per week studying for AP2, a separate 8 to 12 hours per week studying for Microbiology... not to mention the time for the other two classes.

If you took two sciences at the same time, would you be able to devote between 16 and 24 hours (minimum) just for those two subjects outside of class and lab time? If not, then it might be best that you took the sciences (or any lab-based class) separate.

dt70 provided excellent advice in terms of adding other classes to the mix.

Thank you.

Thanks u guys. I guess I will just take the one science class at a time.

i hate just taking one class ever semester just sems as if will take forever. but thanks again
