i have a 3.7 gpa and 90 on the HESI and I have been rejected from at least 5 schools..The lowest gpa they are taking are maybe 3.9.i just got a rejection yesterday, they took 30 students and had 200 applications

I live in Washington state and have applied all over the state. and want to know if it's this competitive everywhere.i dont know what to do

neldel,i was at the orientation last month..

i live in Seattle but applied to schools all over the state.the thing is these schools are a city univ..not private.I think I could get into private school but I would need 50,000 for school and I would need a loan for living expenses since I have to quit my job.

Most of the school Ive applied to go by gpa and test scores

Specializes in Geriatric and Mental Heath.

Can you go to school on another state? You could get scholarships. You never know. You have a high enough GPA

I am applying this coming up Spring quarter for Whatcom's nursing program. Do you think I have a chance with a 3.6 gpa and I get .25 extra point for having a previous bachelors. Thanks! I appreciate any advice or tips!

well im number 2 on the waiting list for fall, with a 3.72 gpa and still waiting to hear if I will get in.Its very frustrating especially since I will have to move if I go to Whatcom.I also have a bachelor's degree

Good luck to you.If I dont get in I'll have to reapply

It's probably not the GPA. It's probably the HESI score. A 3.7 GPA at my university would probably be admitted.

Great! That gives me hope to at least be wait listed! Did you apply for both full time and part time?

I was the OP on this post and wanted to say that I just got called for Whatcom CC in WA state.i was on the waiting list and nowI m in.Thanks everyone for all your responses..I

Im very excited

Hey, if you should look at other states. I know a girl at my current CC in Iowa who came from washington state.

I'd widen your net. I got in to nursing school with a cumulative 3.18 (3.9 in prerequisites, 2.8 in my first degree). 3.7 is a great GPA so if you can be flexible in where you go to school you should be able to get accepted at a great school.

I agree entirely with hiddencat. Are you able to consider a relocation. You should certainly be able to find a school that wants you with a 3.7 gpa. In fact you should be proud of a 3.7 gpa. Keep the faith - if nursing school is what you want you can make it happen - it just might require some sacrifices on your end! Best of Luck and Don't Give Up!

Guess I should have read all the way through before commenting. Congrats to you!

With a 3.7 GPA and 90 there is likely something else that is keeping you out. Make sure you have a well rounded application...experience, volunteer, world travel, medial volunteering, etc.

I went to nursing school at UDUb as a second career after a mediocre undergrad GPA in the 90's. I did have a 3.94 in my masters program, but I had tons of experience. Don't quit yet, keep volunteering!!!
