Got a B in A&P 1, but might get a C in A&P 2...

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello i'm new on here. But would like some advice, i am taking A&P2 in a summer semester. And it is really hard for me to grasp, this is the last week and there are about 450 points to be made. I have a C right now and would like to get a B, but don't see that happening :(. Can i stil get into nursing with a C, or should i retake it?

I won't say you won't be able to get in because it depends on the school and the other people applying. It will make you a less competitive candidate though. The sciences are looked at hard in my school and its competitive so its best to get as high as you can. How are your other classes, do you have a high gpa for the required classes overall? Did you do well on the entrance exam? If so that will help. If you feel good about everything else, maybe try to apply for the upcoming semester but retake ap2 during fall in case you don't get in. A&p is so important, make sure the content you are learning you understand, if not it may be best to retake it anyway. Also see an adviser to try and get some advice. My overall advice would be to retake it though. For a lot of schools a C is not competitive enough. Best of luck! :)

I would suggest retaking it. You want to make your applicant profile look as attractive as possible.

I would say to look at the requirements for the programs you are applying to. In my area the community college ADN programs look at your TEAS score first, they take the top candidates based on score alone. If there are ties then they look at what you took and passed, as long as you got a "C" it doesn't matter.

All that said, if you didn't master the material I would consider retaking it for that reason alone. If you are comfortable with what you learned and the grade isn't an issue to the programs you are applying, then I wouldn't.

Thank you all, I got a B! God is good.
