Very happy with my progress, my goal was all A's this semester after a good enough but not great first semester with A,B,B,C. So just updating from my last thread.

AP I - A

Nutrition - A

Lifespan - A

Speech - A

This Summer:

Intro to Chem(Needed to apply to the program)

Psychology(Re-Taking from a C to get an A)

Cultural Diversity(Pre-Req)

Taking the TEAS sometime this summer and applying for the Spring Class at my CC in August. Hoping to get a good score, the average last year admissions class was 76% Composite.

They calculate six courses for GPA&factor in how many you have completed when applying: AP I&II, Nutrition, Lifespan, English 101, Psychology

Teas Composite worth 35%

Teas Reading worth 20%

I have 5/6 completed, they won't factor in me taking AP II this fall since it's not 100% completed prior to the Nursing application.

Overall, I'm in good shape and I'm anxious to continue my education. Any thoughts or tips on preparing for the TEAS?

I have no tips for taking the TEAS, I had to take the HESI A2 for my school. I just wanted to congratulate you for ending the semester with straight A's.

I did well, I'm happy overall. My grades were

Microbiology/Lab-A

A&P II Lecture-B

A&P II Lab-A

Psychology-A

Aerobics-A

This summer I'll be taking Foundations of Health Ed. and Pathophysiology. I already got accepted into a BSN program for the fall so I'm eager to get these classes out of the way so I can start. Good luck on the TEAS and the remainder of your classes! :)

Well I can help for the TEAS-V. I took it the 15th of May, so 3 days ago. I bought the ATI study manual on Amazon for $30. My weaknesses are math and science so I took the book did all the review of these two sections, and did both of the practice test in the book. I scored in the 95th percentile in science and I got second highest in math. (This is crazy because reading has always been my strong point) you could definitely tell what I studied for and what I didn't. I didn't study reading and I ran out of time and missed answering 5 questions. So I should have practiced that in the TEAS ATI prep manual. I didn't study the word use and sentence structure. So I would have scored in the 80's if I studied the entire book. It's exactly like the TEAS, there are no surprises if you study that book. The TEAS is EASY if you study. It's like a review from high school. Brush up on some skills and you'll be fine.

The Teas is not really a big deal. It tests your basic knowledge in all categories and wants to see how ready you are for nursing school. I scored a 78% on it. If I had taken a chemistry class prior I would have done much better. But a 78 is considered advanced which works for me .

I used the ATI study guide and their online tests. If you keep taking the tests over and over you will do fine. I studied about 2 months for it since it had been so long since I was in high school. The chemistry parts really got me. I made an 81 though and am thrilled with it. The only real problem I had was that at our testing center each section was timed. On the math sections I am a bit slower and ran out of time with 3 questions remaining so I basically just thew in any ole answer on those last ones.
