Employment verification with private duty nursing job?

Hey everyone,

So I'm going to be putting in my application for the LPN to RN bridge program soon and the only thing I have left is to get 2 more months of employment under my belt before I can put my packet in.

I've been offered a job as a private duty LPN. This job is offered by the mother of the patient, no company or anything.

The bridge program specifically says I have to have a letter from the "company" on company letterhead stating I was working full time for X amount of time. Well.. there is no company therefore no company letterhead.

I could of course have her write a letter but I don't believe that will suffice.

I'm considering turning down the job and continuing to look but I also don't want to shoot myself in the foot (perfect pay and hours for me) if there's another way around this.

Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this? Should I just suck it up and keep looking?

Have you called the school to find out if that would be an acceptable job? They will be able to give you an exact answer and, like yourself, all we can do is guess.

Call the school and find out if a personal letter is acceptable.
