  1. Hey everyone. I've been an LPN for the past 10 years, and have finally decided to do the bridge program at Valencia College (Orlando, FL). I met with my adviser today and found that I'm sitting at 43 points. She said that put me smack dab in the middle so she couldn't tell me what chances I had of making it into the bridge program. Has anyone else applied to the Advanced Standing Track at Valencia? How many points did you get and did you get in with those points or not? Any suggestions on how to be more competitive if I don't happen to get in this cycle? I can't retake anything since I don't have anything below a B (they only let you retake if you have a D or an F). Any info would be appreciated! Thanks so much!
  2. Hey everyone, So I'm going to be putting in my application for the LPN to RN bridge program soon and the only thing I have left is to get 2 more months of employment under my belt before I can put my packet in. I've been offered a job as a private duty LPN. This job is offered by the mother of the patient, no company or anything. The bridge program specifically says I have to have a letter from the "company" on company letterhead stating I was working full time for X amount of time. Well.. there is no company therefore no company letterhead. I could of course have her write a letter but I don't believe that will suffice. I'm considering turning down the job and continuing to look but I also don't want to shoot myself in the foot (perfect pay and hours for me) if there's another way around this. Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this? Should I just suck it up and keep looking?
