Did i ruin my future?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Fall of 2011 I went to school to study Forensic Science. I'm wondering, since I withdrew (General Chemistry and Modern Biology) are my chances to get into nursing school over?

I did not withdraw because I was failing by the way. And, I read that some schools take W's as failing :(

I'm not sure if they are required Prerequisites. I'm worried now.

Depends on the school. But my freshmen year at my 4 year college I had to withdrawl from my first semester classes due to family related incidents and it did not hurt me with getting into nursing school. Plus most schools if u already carry a bachelors look at your most recent 60 credit hours and pre reqs

I left a previous school for a specific reason and left behind a laundry list of W's in NURSING courses. My new school does not care, they only look at my pre-req grade for the pre-reqs I am currently taking to get into their ADN program (because I basically started over from scratch at my new school). So no, you didn't ruin your future. Just check with any schools you are interested in and see what their policies are on W's. Some are going to care, but some aren't.

Thank you!! I feel better now!
