Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi All,

feeling a little drained with all the nursing programs and overwhelmed thinking about the competiveness to get into a good one, with that said... anyone currently in or know anything about ASN program at Darton State College in Albany, GA?

Hi! I am at Darton & have applied for the spring 2015 nursing semester. I just completed TEAS. I will know in November if I have been accepted. Let me know if I can answer anything for you.

hi Tillie22, thanks for responding. I plan on completing my pre/regs at Chattahoochee tech closer to home. I will be done by spring 2015. Then I want to apply to Darton's nursing program in summer 2015. I plan to take the TEAS this December to see how I do. And take it again in 2016. If i need to get a better score. How was the TEAS? Let me know if you get accepted. I hope that you DO!! Good luck

How did you do on the TEAS is it all people say? Do you think the online is much harder than the actual test. A lot of people say that is so I was just wondering I take mines in October 25th. Did the book help?

How was it and how did you do If you don't mind me asking I am also applying for spring 2015 at Darton.

Hi stephanie622,

Sorry it took me so long to answer, it has been super busy around here. Now, I have heard that the Summer is a hard time to begin the nursing program at Darton. They said it puts the Adult Psychiatry class the following summer and that is a very hard class to cram into a 10 week semester.

Now, as for the TEAS test, there are some changes coming. Right now at Darton, the TEAS test is given by Darton staff. However, starting next semester ATI will be giving us the exam. We were told the price would increase from $45 to $87 but, nothing else would change. I wish I took some ear plugs with me to the testing center b/c I sat next to a student that made A LOT of noise! She upset many students that day and nothing was ever said to her by the staff. I would highly recommend the ear plugs. The test certainly was not easy. I felt like some of the practice tests I found on the Quizlet website to be very similar to what I was tested over. However, the McGraw-Hill TEAS book was a lot easier than the actual test & I would not rely solely on it. I will certainly keep you posted if I get in or not :)

How did you do on your Teas if you mind me asasking? What semester and program did you apply to evening or hybird. Was the study guide by ATI helpful in your opinion?

Hi TheGodInMe-RN

I made above the 60% that Darton requires for the RN program. I have applied for the traditional track and I will know in November if I have been accepted or not. I would highly recommend studying the ATI book for this test. Good luck!
