Cuurently in Pre Reqs Stage

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Is anyone currently in the process of completing the pre reqs for our nursing program? How has it been so far? What are your most effective study habits? HAS ANYONE TAKEN 2 NATURAL SCIENCE COURSES DURING THE SAME SEMESTER??

No, I got a certificate for PCT which encompassed the CNA. I don't know what your training is, ours was very extensive, with four straight weeks at clinicals at two large hospitals. The course was really draining and hard, definitely got us ready for the nursing program. Drop outs were common, start with 18 end with 7.

Wow 7?! There's only 6 of us in the CLASS! Its a 600 hour program, and divided into 7 different components. I believe its a total of approximately 5 months. You're right about the PCT program encompassing the CNA, at the Robert Morgan program, after you finish the second component which is called OCP 2, you are eligible to get your CNA license from the state, and take the skills test from Prometric. I'm happy that you say it prepared you for the nursing program because, I have yet to meet anyone that went this particular route. Thanks for you response @tnicnat, I appreciate it!

The only reason I took pct during my pre reqs is because getting into an accredited program here is near impossible. So in the meantime, I got the skills. This gives me the base that some don't have. Ours was 8.5 months long....first 4 months were 7 hours a class, the last 4.5 months were 5 hours. 16 total credits. So now I will have experience and I will be more marketable when I move north.
