There are a few hospitals that run 5-6 month (or even 1 yr) ICU programs for new grads.
If you get into one of those programs and stay on as an ICU nurse, do the residency time count towards the ICU requirement of 1 year?

I was a few months over my one year anniversary .
so technically you had 1 year experience. which is what's required. the "few months over" was your preceptorship. that's how i look at it. :)

Sure. But I was well under the year mark when I applied. And I was in the ICU 13 months total. So technically two months from the orientation were counted. But with OT and extra shifts, it probably evened out.
