Yale RN-MSN Fall 2013

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding RN's who apply to the MSN portion at Yale, as opposed to the GEPN program. Does anyone have any stats as far as how many apply and get accepted, specifically for FNP? Type of scores, GRE's, and experience? A lot of the information on here seems to be geared towards the GEPN's, which is great, but I wonder if its applicable to RN's applying to the program.

Any information anyone may have is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I got in one other program but decided I really couldn't say no to Yale. How bout you?

Looks like I'll be seeing you two this Fall! It's actually kind if a lot to get together before the big move; CT license, physical and labs, place to live, etc etc. How are you guys doing with all of that?

Still pretty stoked!!! =)

Congrats guys, can't wait to meet you both! I'm actually a new BSN grad in CT (or will be shortly, my past life is in community psych) so the license is not an issue but I've heard the CT process isn't too bad. Physical and labs are a bit of a pain in the... Let me know if you need help with suggestions for places to live. New Haven is a great little city but there are definitely areas you want to avoid and some of the suburbs can be pricy/are far from campus.

Hey RN's, how goes the preparation process? I think I have everything pretty much done except having a place to live! Getting kind of nervous, but still excited about the move!

It is quite the process, isn't it? I just decided to go with an on-campus graduate apartment for the first year since I don't really have the opportunity to get to New Haven and check anything else out. Finishing up my immunization/physical information and also license transferring... and need to get re-certified in CPR. eek, but looking forward to seeing you guys in the fall. It's nice to see there are at least a few more RN's in the program.

hello everyone, I wanted to hear from someone in the psych program at YSN, I decided to go with Stony Brook because their program is online, and I could not move to CT. I wanted to know how the clinical experience is for ysn students. I am in the process of finding a placement and thought may be I could do my clinical portion with ysn affiliated hospitals? any feed back would be appreciated.
