Yale GEPN 2017

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi everyone! Now that applications are starting to open for this cycle I thought I would start a thread. Is there anyone else that is starting the Yale GEPN application? If so, are you as overwhelmed as I am? Also, if there are any current GEPN students that see this thread, feel free to share any tips or your current experiences :) Thank you!

Hi sasalsa947

I am interested in applying for fall 2017 too. I haven't really started the application yet, but I did glance at it. I am slightly overwhelmed because of all the other schools I need to apply to, essays, and the GRE. I will keep in touch once I get the ball rolling and thanks for creating this thread. :)

Thanks for the reply pinkie568! Which specialty are you applying for? I am in the midst of writing my personal statement right now. Omg, all of the applications, letters of rec, and essays to keep track of with all of the schools is stressing me out too! On top of studying for the GRE. Haha. What other schools are you looking in to?

I hope to get into the psychiatric np program. I'm still trying to decide which schools to apply to, but I'm currently thinking about: U of Rochester, NYU, Columbia, MGHI, Augusta (Georgia), and Vanderbilt. How about you?

I am applying to the Acute Care specialty. I am thinking about applying to Columbia, Vanderbilt, MGHI, and U Penn so far!

Hi! I just started the Yale GEPN application, and am also a little overwhelmed, but mostly by the essay--I'm struggling with the idea of condensing all of my passion and experience into two pages that will determine how the next 3+ years of my life pan out! I am applying to the Nurse-Midwifery specialty. I don't think I've ever wanted something more in my life! I'm applying to 10 other schools (even I can't believe that number) but Yale, Vanderbilt, and Seattle U are my top choices. We'll see what happens!

Hey! I'm currently working on my application for next fall for the psychiatric specialty! I'm definitely overwhelmed by the application and I know the wait will be even more nerve-wracking!

Greetings, All - joining the thread. Applying this year for Midwifery. Any other hopeful soon-to-be midwives out there? Best of luck to everyone in these next few weeks before applications are due.

Hello all! I am also a hopeful GEPN midwifery applicant! Saying that I'm freaking out is an understatement. I was reading the thread for the GEPN 2016 on this website and have worried myself into a frenzy. I am one of those people who can't afford to take pre-reqs for other programs so the only program I'm applying to is Yale. I'm taking the GRE on Monday... eek! How is everyone feeling with a month and a half left for the application?

Hi everyone!

I submitted my application to the PNP track this morning, just waiting for my recommenders to submit their letters. Let the waiting game begin!

Hello there! I definitely think the essay portion is the hardest part of the process...attempting to paint for the reader who I am in two pages while answering all their questions is definitely an arduous task (for me at least). I just got back all my GRE scores and am waiting on one more recommendation before I submit. I will also need to take off a little early from work to go to the info session- I wish they were a bit later in the afternoon.

Oh, and I'm trying for the acute care track!
