Was this someone who had received an alternative letter?

I just asked her when her interview date was and if she was an alternate before

While I am trying to be positive, I feel that being more realistic -- she was probably one of the later interviews or something. Probably didn't receive an alternate letter.

I am at such a loss

I feel so stuck. I tore my ACL completely last weekend in Big Bear and now have that to deal with. If I didn't get into Western, I was going to suck it up and start West Coast in June. Now that I can't really walk and have pre-op physical therapy, followed by surgery in a month or so and then a lot more PT, I can't see myself starting in June.

I love Western's philosophy and the way they seem to teach their students. But they royally suck at the admissions process. Who doesn't publish a rank?? How do they expect students in an alternate position to drop everything to accept if they are given the chance in July or August. That doesn't give much time to make arrangements.

I know I sound like a pity party, but this whole situation just stinks. Western was, and I suppose still is, my first choice. But if I am offered a spot in August -- I can't hardly just tell my job, see ya! And find childcare arrangements to fit my husbands work schedule and my potential school schedule. And how do you line up all the financial aid if you are given so little notice? It isn't like I have 70k just laying around.

    Le Sigh

Looks like she just responded -- no alternate letter, and had a late interview.

I interviewed on 3/21 and haven't heard anything from them. Being that someone already heard back I can assume it doesnt mean anything good for me haha. I believe there were 16 of us because there were two no shows.

Bees! I'm sorry to hear about your ACL!!! I demolished mine in 2007, had ACL reconstruction and some meniscus clean-up, and no problems since. I had the allograft just in case you are wondering My advice pre-surgery is to get as strong as possible and take full advantage of PT. I went in to surgery super strong, and came out super strong. I was skiing again in 8 weeks--probably not advised by my doc, but I live in Mammoth and I couldn't help myself. LOL

So, I think you will actually be fine to start classes in June if you have to. I walked in to my first post-op PT appt without my crutches (I got a lil' slap on the wrist for that). The therapist told me I should keep using them for at least two weeks even though I felt fine.

You absolutely do not sound like a pity party, I'm just as frustrated as you are. I'm actually starting to move forward with the program I have been accepted to. I was really hoping for Western for the same reasons as you, but sadly waiting until July or August is just very unrealistic. Besides, living in Hawaii for a few years for school probably won't suck I just need to figure out how to minimize loan debt... IF by some twist of fate I get accepted to Western BEFORE mid-May, I'll be happy to attend, but I really can't wait much longer than that.

Ahh! I am getting a Hamstring Autograft.

What program were you accepted to? And what is the program/amount? I ask because I am seriously considering West Coast, and am guessing (after pre-reqs) it will run me about 80k (plus an additional amount for living expenses) for a BSN.

I am trying my hardest to be patient, but I want to get started with my "life" already. I don't want to be finishing up school when my kids get into school - I want to be working.
