Hi, the disorganization I was referring to goes far beyond Secure Proctor. The school was disorganized in bringing in SP without working out the kinds. This lead to people not being able to take exams and getting a "0", endless hours of students on the phone trying to get in contact with Tech Support at SP, etc.

USA's psych NP is disorganized because of the psych professor. She is not only remarkably scattered and disorganized, she can't write a plain sentence in English, she requires some out of date books (especially pharmacology), which there is really no excuse for, she does not actually "teach" but just posts readings. She is unbending, and tries to run the program by intimidation and contempt for the students. Hr knowledge base is also rather lacking. Unfortunately, she is the only one who teaches the core psych classes, so there is no avoiding her.

There is never feedback on exams, so there is no way of knowing where one did poorly. Some of the other classes at USA are reasonable, with helpful instructors. Others (pharmacology, pathophysiology) are an absolute time-consuming nightmare with unreasonable exams, lowsy study guides, etc.

The psych classes always start in the fall at USA (Psych I), so that may be different from other schools. Best bet: go to St Louis University or somewhere other than USA.
Very sad to hear. Thank you for the feedback. =(

I owe you a huge apology! You were right! This semester has turned out to be a flaming nightmare, so bad in fact that I am withdrawing tomorrow. I would post more about it, but I'm just not ready, I'm too hurt and too angry. My 4.0 and my money are going somewhere else.

    Sue,

When you are ready, please share your experiences so that others are informed and able to make well educated decisions. I decided to go to SLU and so far it has been a good experience but it was a very difficult decision to make when choosing between two different schools. So sorry for your poor experience and I hope things work out for the better in the future

Sue, I assume this is because of ***** in psych? This being semester 2 of psych, how did you get through last semester with her? Have you completed all the other classes (pharm, patho) in the previous semesters?

USA's psych NP program favorable?? I really have a hard time believing that. I graduated from the program; almost everyone in my class hated the psych professor and many of the other courses how they were taught (pharm, patho, etc), the current students this year mostly hate her and the program, and the ones before me have told me the same thing.

No, this is not related to the psych classes. It is a problem in the research class.

This is really too bad There really are not a whole lot of options for affordable Masters prepared programs out there. I would love to go to SUNY, but they only start in June, and I really don't want to be out of school a full year before starting.

Yikes!! Thank God for this site I was planning on enrolling in USA this fall 2013. I am having a change of heart, I do not need to be set up for failure. Sue let me know what you decide to do. I may look into St. Louis university.

    GM Sue,

I am in the early stages of enrolling in USA, post phoned related to changing jobs. What happened to you in the program Sue? I am just curious because I see that mwg60 suggested St Louis University. I went and the adult learning is double tuition compared to USA? Any feedback would be great, I am not prepared to be set up for failure; however I need something more reasonable with cost.
