Summer Entry 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN Johns Hopkins

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi everyone,

How many of you have applied for the 2013 Accelerated BSN/MSN program at JHU SON? I applied early decision and completed my phone interview on the 26th. They said they will start making decisions calls around the December 15th which is a Saturday so I'm sure we won't hear anything until the 17th or later.

Is anyone else as anxious as I am to hear back from them? I even made a vision board on my fridge that reads: I WILL GET ACCEPTED INTO THE JOHNS HOPKINS BSN/MSN PROGRAM STARTING SUMMER 2013. Positive thoughts work, right? :saint:

FYI: I also applied to Columbia, Ohio State, and UCLA.

I'm summer as well. Applied early, but was bumped to regular decision. Had my interview in November. Surprised to see only Fall acceptances so far! Still waiting :-)

Hey guys, this is directly from an email from my admissions counselor: We are making admissions decisions over the next two weeks, and all admissions decisions have not been made. The JHUSON does have a wait list.

Finally fell asleep at about 4:30am and woke up to an acceptance e-mail! Fall start, ABSN only!

Cnp, you've been awesome, thanks so much! So if we were selected for a scholarship, we would hear with our admission letter? Because they emailed me mine and it didn't seem like it would be on there.

From what I was briefly told this morning before I ran to clinical was you will receive notification of any scholarship awards in with your admissions letter.

I'm in for FNP for this fall! I have a question for current students. I noticed on the website that the 17 month BSN program ends in December. Does the MSN portion begin the following January? Thanks!

Most MSN programs begin the following fall. Many students use this gap to find employment and gain some experience.

cnp2012-do you know if they only notified fall acceptances? because I applied for the summer program and i feel like no one has heard yet. thanks for all your help so far:)

Again just hang in there. i was jut as crazy last year at this time so I feel you. This goes to anyone on here. Ask me questions, PM me whatever. I totally get what you guys are going through :) STAY STRONG AND BREATHE!!!!

Oh man it's hard to relax but I am grateful for you, CNP. I was devastated (no exaggeration) when I didn't hear. It's good to know all is not lost. Okay a little dramatic here :) But thank you for keeping us informed!

So what order were they calling in? Date of application submission?

Don't be devastated!!! I am here rooting for all of you....I know how stressful this is so I am just trying to infuse some much needed sanity into your lives. All is not and we are all allowed a dramatic moment or two. I would love to tell you that they have an order in which they are calling but sadly there isnt one. Trust me they want you to know as much as you all want to know!

All right looks like I got to most of your questions.....if you had more detailed questions about life as a student or about the program in general PM me and I can give you my email address which I am more than happy to do :)

Ah got it. Do you know if this is the case for FNP? Is there any way to just go straight through for FNP? I was so busy during the application cycle that I didn't have time to look into these details; now I'm wishing that I did!

CNP thank you so much. I am really hoping I get a call sooner than later, and if I do, I've love to connect with you about general program stuff as well as where to live in Baltimore, etc.

You really are the only thing keeping most of us sane at this point. I have a previous graduate degree and I do not remember freaking out as much about the decision- I guess that's why I left my PhD program to pursue a FNP ;-)

So grateful for you CNP!

Like I said most masters program begin in the Fall with FNP being in that category. So you will have that gap between graduation and starting the program.
