Anyone else losing motivation to study?!

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hi guys. I'm nearing the end of my first semester in my nurse practitioner MSN program. In the past few months I've taken so many exams, given presentations, had countless meetings for our gazillion group projects, written probably 10 papers, and read so much. Our last day of classes for the semester is Dec. 13 and from now until then we still have 3 more exams, a group paper,

another group presentation, 5 papers, and lord knows how many more chapters and articles to read. I find myself proscrastinating a lot now and just want to think about the holidays! :) My grades are all As in all my classes, so that is good, but I just feel like I'm losing my concentration. Anyone else feel the same?

YES!!! I feel like I am just sliding into the finish! I need to step it up now in the last two weeks, and will be so thankful for a little time off. Hang in there, almost through it!!

Me too!! Can't wait until this term is over - I am living for Christmas break.

Yes! I feel guilty saying this, but I have an exam today and have been procrastinating all day from studying!!! Two more days of clinicals this week and a paper due on Friday. And it still isn't over!!!

So, yes. I've lost the desire to work/study/do anything but veg right now. :)

Best of luck to everyone else for the rest of the semester!!!

I actually have finished up all the work for this semester's class - so now I have to go to class and just be present for the remainder of the semester while others do their presentations. Not a bad gig! I must say, I lucked out this semester with how easy the class was - I guess it's the calm before the storm - clinicals start next semester.

Ok, my exam is over. Now to somehow work on that paper that's due in 2 days. I have clinicals all day tomorrow... *sigh* To top things off, I had dental work done today and the entire right side of my mouth is stinging. Not the best motivator to do anything!

Ok, I just cranked out 3 papers in the past 5 days and also worked on my power point presentation for class tomorrow. Phew! I still have one more paper (this will be the 16th one for the semester!!!!!) and one more exam before my break starting Dec. 13. Calgon take me away! :)

i have the same problem.Oftentimes i feel lazy to study...Lucky me i havent failed but my grade are not A just like you..I feel disapointed because sometimes even if i did study still i cant get higher grades.Im not that intelligent..

Yes, I had to force myself to study and crawled to the finish line this semester... I finished my last final and yet when I see my Bates Assessment book or my Patho book I still get chills up my spine.

I've found it hard to relax and feel I should be rereading both books since I'm about to start clinicals with an MD as my preceptor....my advisor's advice was to relax during the semester break..... easier said than done...

Me too, even though I'm on break I also have a hard time trying to relax! I feel like I should be reading up on pharmacology and advanced cardio nursing since they are two of the classes I'll be taking next semester (along with theory/research II & community practicum). It's so hard to relax though when I know what is coming next semester. :)

Whew! I am so glad to have read this albeit a little bit late. I feel like I barely slid into home plate in terms of motivation and was wondering if I had a serious problem or what..I also had a horrible time settling down at the beginning of break, but am now of sloth status. In fact, I am almost ready to get back to work, but I'll take the next week.

I also have advanced pharmocology this coming semester. I am so dreading it! But I have had the instructor before in another class and she is so user friendly so that eases my mind just a little bit.

I was so sick of studying last semester I literally alsmost flunked advanced patho, but I passed by the skin of my teeth. Sometimes I'm so tired I just can't strive for that 'A' even though I'd love to have one.

Like others have said though, I've never had a prospective employer ask what kind of grades I made.

I'm still not ready to jump back in there so I guess I better be psyching myself up! I still have a couple more weeks till I have to start again.
