Recommendations for Second Degree BSN Programs

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I live in Bucks County, have my BS and am looking to go into Nursing. I have found that , Villanova, La Salle and Thomas Jefferson have programs. Does anyone have a recommendation as to any of these programs or any others in the area? I would appreciate the help. Also, Gwyned Mercy has a weekend program for two years that would allow me to take the test to be an RN but would only give me an Associates in Nursing. Does anyone know whether it would be the same as having my BS and being an RN or is there a difference in having your BS and BN? Thanks for any help!!!

Nope because my credit score is too low to take out the amount of loan money i need, so I am pushing back untl September it should be better than i need to get some credit, that is what I am lacking now. I am also appling to West Chester who program is cheaper...I have a interview comin up.

What companies did you try? Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to secure funding for a second degree program?

Specializes in Nursing Student.
West Chester University also has a 2nd degree program that will allow you to gain your BSN in 17 months if you have a bachelors in another field. I went there and graduated Dec 2008. My class was the first cohort and we had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX, first try. I highly recommend this program. Great professors!

POWLWE, I am also interested in the WCU Advance2 BSN program but will have to take some of their prereqs before I apply. Did you have to do the same? If so, were you able to take them right at West Chester or did you do something else? Thanks so much for the info and help in advance!

I recently submitted my application for west chester. From what I hear ALL prequisites must be completd at the time of application. I guess you could take your prequisites at west chester, but you would save a lot of money if you would take them at your local community college...Just have to make sure you enroll in you A&P classes as soon as they become available they close quickly. My friend has been trying to get into A&P at dccc for 2 semesters now...She told me that the class closed 2 days after it opened!
