Just wondering if PA is seeking to become part of the compact states? As a traveling RN, this would be ideal! Anyone with info, please share-thanks!

Pa has no plans to become part of Compact states at this time.

Delaware is member, NJ planning to join.

Does it mean your licsense would carry over? That I could work over in Jersey without the aggravation of getting a licsense there?

Compact license (the short version!;) ):

If you live/reside in a compact state (AZ, AR, DE, ID, IA, ME, MD, Mississippi, NE, NC, SD, TN, TX, UT, WI) and hold a license from there, you can go to any other compact state without getting their license. (Some compacts want you to notify their BON if you are going to work in their state. Just ask the state in question).

ND and NM come on line 1/1/04. VA starts 1/1/05. IN hasn't decided yet, and I just heard NJ has postponed their compact status.

(Just a note: it does not matter where your original license is from. It is where you NOW currently reside that decides whether you have a compact license or not).

Thank you! Well that's too bad for NJ. I'd have no problem crossing the bridge to go work there. Oh well!
