Dccc 2014 petition

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I just handed in my petition today.. I'm so nervous but then again we don't find out until dec or jan. anyone else petitioning??

A 75 should have even wait listed. Something was not in order.

I wonder if anyone else has heard.....

I agree, if 75 was reading score that should of made it or wait listed. Ahhh, I hate this! Staying positive, but nervous :/

My friend is a professor - but not with nursing so she really doesn't understand how it works. The 75 may have been overall, but we know that a 75 overall doesn't necessarily mean you qualify to petition. She could get 100 in 3 and not meet the requirement in the 4th and she's out. I bet there are quite a few people that apply that didn't even pass the teas. When I was leaving the TEAS exam there were 2 woman leaving at the same time and they couldn't even read their score and they didn't understand that they had to receive a min score in each category. They also had no idea that the rankings were based on reading, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get people petitioning that didn't pass the teas.

Those are my thoughts exactly. You could do great on 3 of the 4 and not meat the minimum for the fourth, they don't pre screen that and then you're out. A lot of people didn't read the info packet and understand how the acceptance system changed this year. They still think it's going off a basic overall grade which is a shame.

Needless to say now I'm frantically checking my mail every day.

Me too! My anxiety everyday seeing the mail truck is terrible! I hope we find out before Christmas. I just want to know... Good luck girls!

I'm crystal-Hi!! I also petitioned for 2014 and am eagerly stalking my mailbox... I did, however, bump into one of the gals that accepted the applications and she mentioned that she did NOT think they would go out before Christmas this year.

That was a week ago- but I can't stop looking!! Lol-

Hi Crystal! Did you petition for Evening or Day Program at Marple?? I got my acceptance letter on Monday for the Evening Program :) Any word yet?? It would be nice to know someone before clinical starts!

Hi all,

I petitioned for Marple Day program and have not received a letter yet. Having bad anxiety!! My teas scores were:

Reading: 85.7

Math: 76.7

Science: 68.8

English: 70

Hoping for good news soon... this waiting is KILLING me.

you should definitely be getting something very soon!!

Hello all and congrats to everyone that got into the program! I am brand new to this site (well newly registered, been browsing a bit) I am currently looking into the DCCC nursing program requirements but have a concern as far to admissions. Unless I am reading incorrectly it appears that if you are a Chester County resident you can ONLY apply to the Chester County program which to my understanding is ONLY 32/seats per year? Am I reading that correctly and if so does anyone have any idea as to how many apply to the CC program? Average acceptance scores in regards with TEAS/GPA? Thank you and pleasure e-meeting everyone!

Yes correct. You have to apply where you reside. Avg teas I would say is 75%.. Gpa 3.5 maybe ?

Go to a meeting about program it helps. Dates are on DCCC site. Good luck!

Thank you very much DaniMV815 !

Currently live in Vegas. West Chester is my home and was toying with the idea of going back to DCCC for the program opposed to doing it out here. There are Pros and Cons to both schools/programs. I would prefer DCCC and overall think I would be better off for a variety of reasons however I feel when the time comes to hand in my petition I would have Homer Simpsons "DOH!" voice in the back of my head when I realize i'm fighting for 1 out of 32 seats against who know how many applicants. Here they accept up to 136 both in Fall/Spring with the average being 104 in the last 2 semesters and thats just for the regular program. They also have an extended track twice a year which offers 24 seats each semester.. Ugh even if I had an astounding GPA and TEAS Exam score I think all the anxiety while waiting for that letter would kill me! Bit of a life decision pickle i'm in...

Thank you for your response, answered my biggest question!
