anyone working at Thomas Jefferson Hospital?HELP!

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I am taking prereqs at a college in NJ and will be done by the end of the summer. However I have applied to Thomas Jefferson University for the asn/bsn program (didnt know you take prereqs there along with your nursing classes) and I also applied for 2 positions at the hospital. In NYC getting a job at the hospitals is not easy, its like a cult unless you have a nursing degree already. Is this true with TJH? Should I basicly walk into the hospital and network? is there any advice to getting hired there? or any philly area hospital? im moving next month to bucks county area and really want to get a hospital job. Please advise. thanks in advance.

what position are you applying for in the hospital? Extern? if so, you need to have completed a clinical class before you can work as an extern. When i applied for a job at Jeff, i just walked in, dressed professionally and asked to speak to the nurse recruiter. I gave her my resume, told her i'm interested in working for the hospital and i got a job interview right there and then.

Try their website. I usually like to walk in myself. I don't think it matters though. if you do go in, try and make a good and lasting impression. I know a friend of mine just got hired in the NICU as an extern cuz she is going to work there. She's hired but since she's still in school, she works as an extern. Good luck.

I applied for Receiving Tech II. I think I will just go there as I also see they have a position for a receptionist. Thanks
