  1. I attend Union County College in NJ and this is the case as well. We are taught directly from the book. No need to write notes just highlight whats in the book. WE had to take a math pretest wich does not count towards your grade. We also have 4 journals which dont count towards your grade but if you dont do them then you fail. All that counts is the 4 exams and final, which we have to teach ourselves the chapters. Also everything is cramed in such as pharmacology along with basic nursing concepts such as safety and nutrition. going to class is a waste of time. but if you dont show up its not good either. Its really nuts!
  2. im in the program which is 4 semesters long. Its a lot of reading and studying. It goes fast. You need a c average to get into the program in all your prereqs and the first nursing course is only offered in the fall & spring. good luck
  3. Wow! pay is less than $11 before the program? how can one survive in MD on that pay? Man I am disappointed. Im looking to leave NYC but I cant survive on that in MD. the pay after the program is done the pay is not bad. geez ill keep looking thanks for the info!
  4. I noticed this position online. The only thing is you have to commit to 1 year. usually when they attach this it means working conditions are not good! any info from anyone who is familiar with this? By the way it is a training position for CNA's who want to be PCTs they will hire you to start on April and then you begin the training class in Jul-Sept to be a PCT
  5. I decided not to take the test since i was accepted to UCC before I had to take the test but buy the book they recomend. Start practicing your math since youll need it for the test and me dosage calculations once in a program. Also practice your reading comprehension. dont worry so much the more places you apply better chances you have getting in
  6. No im not from CA. But I went to jersey to get into a school. Monroe requires entrance exam and they have very few spots. Try also Boces LPN program. My advice apply to multiple places!
  7. I received my letter for the first clinical PNU190 :yeah:and I have a lot to do before class starts in Jan. anyone else get into the clinical?
  8. Hi I saw a listing for Genesis GNA course and job. Appearantly they are all over MD. Whats the course like and how much is paid during and after the course? thanks in advance.
  9. Ok. I thought to myself this story sounded fishy cause if you cant get anything in ATL theres Savannah, Gastonia etc... I think this woman may have lied and im glad I wasnt the only one thinking this!
  10. I was just reading on the CNN website about a woman in GA who cant find a nurse job down there. She stated it is because of the economy. I thought this was supposed to be a recession proof career. Is this the case all over GA? My goodness we are really in trouble in this country!
  11. I saw on t.v. that there are some students who cant get loans for school. Has anyone experiensed this. Im supposed to start clinicals in Jan. and I dont want any surprises. Any imput would be appreciated.
  12. ill be starting a PCA position in a couple of weeks. Yes nurses wipe tushes too so if u cant deal with as a cna then yeah maybe u should look into something else. I have kids a 7 & 19month old so im used to wiping privates just think about u having a family member in need of care maybe that will help!
  13. Fair Acres in Delaware County offers cna training free of charge as long as u work for them dont know how far u are willing to travel
  14. THANKS! IM going to apply to Monroe college lpn program as well cause i cant be bothered with the waiting!
