Completely Unhappy With The School I Chose
I attend Union County College in NJ and this is the case as well. We are taught directly from the book. No need to write notes just highlight whats in the book. WE had to take a math pretest wich does not count towards your grade. We also have 4 journals which dont count towards your grade but if you dont do them then you fail. All that counts is the 4 exams and final, which we have to teach ourselves the chapters. Also everything is cramed in such as pharmacology along with basic nursing concepts such as safety and nutrition. going to class is a waste of time. but if you dont show up its not good either. Its really nuts!

Howard County General Hospital PCT Training Position
I noticed this position online. The only thing is you have to commit to 1 year. usually when they attach this it means working conditions are not good! any info from anyone who is familiar with this? By the way it is a training position for CNA's who want to be PCTs they will hire you to start on April and then you begin the training class in Jul-Sept to be a PCT

CNN: GA nurse unable to find job, working at Red Lobster
I was just reading on the CNN website about a woman in GA who cant find a nurse job down there. She stated it is because of the economy. I thought this was supposed to be a recession proof career. Is this the case all over GA? My goodness we are really in trouble in this country!

Now ive called and left messages for eveyone I could find but noone can tell me if this course is given evey semester and how long it would take to receive such invitation. Can anyone whose been through this have an answer. I technically dont have any required courses to take this semester. Im thinking of taking A&P 1 cause I plan on continuing for my BSN anyways.

Phlebotomy while in school anyone?
I wanted to find out if there are a lot of opportunities for phlebotomy in the RTP area? I have been accepted to a lpn program in NJ but my hubby may be relocated to the RTP area next month. I was going to do the phlebotomy here anyways but now im wondering if its a skill that I can transfer to NC? I went on some of the hospital websites such as Wakemed and Rex etc... and I saw a couple of openings for jobs asking for phlebotomy certification but they are different titles. So would it be easy to get a job or should I look into something else? Please help!

Any Options? What's the best thing to do?
many have had this same issue with CUNY. All those other schools you listed are also tough to get into but you can certainly try to take over your science courses and try to get into one of those schools. On the other hand I know many who faced similar issue and have gone to private schools such as Pace, LIU etc... If you can swing their tuition you may want to consider them. Keep in mind CUNY has long wait list for most of their programs so if you wish to still get into one of their programs I suggest you start retaking your science courses ASAP. GOOD LUCK! youll make it!
