Anyone Starting At UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing?

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

This thread is for anyone who is trying to get into, currently at, or graduated from Shadyside School of Nursing in Pittsburgh!

Sounds like a good plan ;) I would love to know more about your educational background, etc., when you are able.

I already feel less bitter now than I did this morning. I guess the plus side is I can get some of the non-nursing classes out of the way this fall.

Hey Robot,

I started a new thread titled "UPMC Shadyside '09'". I agree, this thread is great, however tooooo long. You may want to post on there and start fresh. Good idea.

Its not a bad idea to start a new thread .. but oddly enough when you search in goggle for shadyside school of nursing forums ... this thread is what you find ... thought there are at least 5 other threads with shadyside in the title .. this is the only one that comes up in google .. Its actually how I found allnurses. Couldn't find many other sites that said anything about shadyside.

that long winded thing aside ... thanks for the sugestion and starting a new one .. hopefully it will get hits.

Good point. I started a new thread (again) with "School of Nursing" in the title. Maybe that will make it easier for everyone.

The new thead is UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing '09'. Check it out.

Just wondering if anyone who is in or was in the 300's & has taken their psych rotation could give a few pointers. Whats the difference between going to mckeesport hospital vs. WPIC?

Is the class demanding?

Do you stay at McKeesport until 9pm like they mentioned?

Thanks in advance

Hello All,

Is there anyone trying to get into Shadyside for the Fall 2011 class?

Thanks;-)

I just took the PSB to apply for Spring, 2011. I think I'll have to retake the science section, however, so Fall, 2011 is more likely.

Audrey

Hi Audrey,

Which program will you be attending?, the pt or ft. I will trying to get into the pt one.

Thanks,

Mj

I want to go FT. I'll be 46 when I start, so four years of school just seems too long. :(

yes, completely understand:-) Hopefully I will be starting August 2011, the Part time program:-) Good luck to you!

just found this board and thread :)

I am waiting on the testing dates and etc. so that I can start the process to get into the fall 2011 part time class. I'm a LPN and going full time to school doesn't work for me nor would I try to do both full time. too bad there weren't more LPN to RN part time classes.

If I could afford to go to school full time to get my RN, I could afford not to work at all :lol2:
