2012 CCP Nursing program

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has received their acceptance letters for the fall 2012 program yet and if so how many points did you have?

I'm taking Nursing 1 and Anatomy 1. You just have to make sure you have Anatomy 1, English Comp 1 and Nutrition done by the fall semester. I wish I could have taken Anatomy earier but I wasn't able to get the Philly tuition rate until now. See you at orientation!

Oh Ok and I'll be looking forward to it !

Does anyone know how much tuition is for the fall ? Not including books and other things of that nature. I'm only taking one class so as far as tuition goes, will I only be paying for that one class ? And if so how much would that be ? I found some information about it but I want a second source to make sure what I found is indeed correct

I hate blue with a passion !!!! But oh well. And do we have to wear them to school everyday ? I know we have to at clinicals

I think we only have to wear them to clinical and to lab. Other than that I think you can wear whatever you want to class...at least i hope so! i'd hate to have to wear those uniforms everyday lol

Last year i had signed up for nursing 101 and i believe my tuition itself was around $1000, but there is also like a $300 course fee that you have to pay as well as a distance education fee, a technology fee, and some kind of general college fee that gets added on top of that. Altogether it came out to be close to $1500 for the class. I dont know if the tuition/fee rates have changed since last year, but i'm guessing it will probably still be somewhere around there for this year.

Ok that's what I thought ... I was told 3500 but the amount per credit for only one class didn't add up so that's why I wanted a second opinion . I promise you all are SUCH A BIG HELP !!!!!

Right ... Wearing them almost everyday would be somewhat irritating,to say the least, especially if u don't like blue !!! I'm so excited to finally start it really can't get here fast enough .... Have your child abuse clearance letters come back yet ? I sent mines out , I wanna say , a week ago and still nothing !

I can relate as far as being anxious, but I'm trying not to be too anxious. My dad said nursing school was the hardest two years of his life, and that was AFTER serving in Vietnam! :) We will be living and breathing nursing. So from now till September I'm going to focus on reading for pleasure and planning a vacation.

I think they said the child abuse clearance gets mailed back two weeks after the form is received.

I'm taking Nursing 101 only. I have all of my other classes done already and seeing that Nursing 101 is 4 days a week between lab, lecture, seminar, and clinicals they suggest getting everything else done because the work load just for that class is rough. I don't know how anyone would be able to do more than the one especially if you want to be able to work as well. Clinicals are twice a week for 6 hours and between lecture, lab and seminar you are in class two days a week for approx 4 hours.

As far as whats needed for orientation, you need to have reciepts for everything to show proof you already did at least portion of whats needed. So I wasn't wrong. You have until July to actual go and get the fingerprint scan done. I personally plan on getting it all done before orientation because I want to stay on top of it.

Also just to let everyone know you will be requested at orientation to sign up to show proof of your social security number.. if you do not have a social security card you will need to get one so start the paper work sooner than later cause it can take a little bit. You can go down to the social security administration office downtown to request one but you will need to bring additional documentation including a drivers license, birth certificate, and or passport. The school will not take anything other than your actual social security card as proof... even if you already have a US passport.

Nursing is a 7 credit course so its approx $1300. I'm taking 7 credits this semester and that's around what it cost me. Then you gotta pay for uniforms, books, etc.

Yeah, I'm nervous about taking Anatomy with Nursing but because of the residency requirement I have no choice :(

Are any of you planning to work while in school? I'm quitting my job before the semester starts, and I'm just wondering what you all are planning to do about work.

I'm trying to find a job as I write lol ... Just something small so I can save up for extra expenses and what not . I would work during school but the only time I would be available is on the weekend and idk what job will hire me under those conditions ... I don't see how anyone could work , it would be to close to overkill but than again some can do it ...
