I've been working on a general med surge floor (adults) for a little over a year now. I just got a job on the peds floor and start in a couple of weeks. I am very excited! I will mainly work with school age/adolescents but will float to infant/toddlers and PICU some too. I will also have peds oncology. I was wondering if anybody has any tips or suggestions about Peds. It's been a while since I did my clinicals. Also, does anyone have a nursing report sheets for peds? Any tips on starting IV's on Pediatrics? And ideas and tips very welcome. I'm getting a little nervous but very excited! Thanks

There are lots of great tips in the threads in this forum. Did you have a look around? You could also get a lot of good info from the PICU forum.

mrsarb,
How is your new job going? I am also switching from adult to peds with barely one year of experience as a nurse in an acute rehab floor. I am very nervous but excited to learn a whole new different world. I start in about 2 weeks and I don't know if there is any preparation I can do before starting.
Thanks!
