Can I shadow a Pediatric nurse?

Hello, I am in the Louisville, Kentucky area and before considering nursing school I would like to shadow a pediatric nurse. I do not know any, but would be interested in finding out how I could go about this. I am currently a nanny and love that position. I know my career would more than likely revolve around the care of children.:redbeathe

Any information would be helpful. Do I just call Kosair hospital and ask this? Would they let me shadow someone?

Yes! It doesn't hurt calling the hospital and asking. It might be the nursing supervisor that ultimately decides. Or, if you want to see the clinic side of pediatric nursing, you could check out what a PNP does... something to aim for in the future.

Good luck! If you're really at a loss, you could ask your nursing program if they have any contacts in peds. :)
