Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech--I got the JOB

Nursing Students Technicians

Published

So excited! I have been applying for 2 years to the hospitals in my area trying to get a job. I finally went to a Job fair on Feb, 16 and they officially made me a offer on Friday! I am so excited yet nervous....I currently work in healthcare, but the admiistrative side (on the phone paper work, etc.) But now I am going to be working on a floor. Does anybody have any tips for me? I start my RN program in April, and my Nurse manager said she basically does a self scheduling, so I don't think I will have much of an issue balancing school/work..

The hospital is going to cross train me to be a monitor tech...

I'm going to be working at St.Anthony's Hospital in St.Petersburg Fl..it's 25minutes outside of Tampa!

Specializes in SDU, Tele.

just wanted to say congrats!

Hi!!

I too have been applying at area hospitals, I've completed EKG, Phlebotomy and CNA (though I haven't sat the CNA exam as yet). I am gonna go to their job fair and was wondering what to expect? I plan on going in an hour early because I heard there are usually alot of people, I have never been to a job fair before. Do they do on-the-spot hiring? Any pointers at all? Thank you and congratulations starting nursing school AND bagging a new job! P.s what school did you get into?
