Need advise- getting a job in a cardiac unit.

Nursing Students Technicians

Published

Hello, So I just need some advise! I am getting a job in a cardiac unit. I am NOT a PCT and i dont know if they are giving me training for it. I was a hospital corpsman and have expirience in an ICU... any advise on what i should prepare for! thanks in advance.

Hi. I just saw your post and thought I would ask you a question.

Sorry for imposing on your question (which I notice wasn't answered 4 months ago) - but did they train you? I ask because I am a pre-nursing student searching for a hospital job. I notice a tech job that does not require that I be trained already, and I am wondering should I assume that they will train me. Just like you, I am not a PCT or an aide; I haven't been through such training.

I am absolutely new to the hospital setting, and was told that when the economy was good, people could be trained at the hospital.

I hope you respond. I'm going to apply for the job anyway and see what happens.

they'll train you i hope. & when you interview you can always ask how long the orientation/training is

Thanks. I'm going for it.
