Anyone working in SCMC Bend, particularly the ER?

Hi,

Hoping to chat with any nurse working in the ER in Bend... I've read the info on the SCMC web site but would be good to hear what it's like to work there from staff themselves... I'm an Irish nurse currently trying to obtain OR licensure.... Working in Level 1 trauma center in UK for 5years and would love to try working in Bend... so hints & tips on the whole application for licence & immigration welcome :) ... I have emailed SCMC direct but no response.. anyone have the email addy or telephone number for the HR dept?... Thanks :)

Hi, don't know if you're still looking for replies to your post, it was a couple months ago, I did clinicals at the St. Charles ER for my Emergency Medical Technician certification, and I loved it. I thought the nurses and doctors were great, I learned a lot, and it's not an overwhelming environment to work in like a big city. A lot of the patients who came in were in car or recreational accidents. The HR department has been very selective about hirings due to the economy, I would keep trying to contact them, and call if possible. Good luck! I'm sure you'd like living in Bend.
