Fracture tables

Finally, after many years we are going to replace our Hyde Chick fracture table. Please let me have your input about your fracture tables. What do you like, not like, what do you wish that you had never seen. We are going to trial some before we buy.

Thanks for the help.

We have the Trumpf...

I HATE IT. It's bulky, heavy, difficult to maneuver. I hate that I can't neatly tuck the sheets, or that there is no nice way to secure someone's upper body on the table.

Every piece is so flipping heavy, nothing is neatly marked for people like me who like things labelled & CLEARLY marked, insert part A into part B....

I don't do well looking at an instruction manual LOL

I think the worst part is not having a cart specifically for the table, to properly dismantle & put the pieces away in a useful manner... People take it apart & just throw it anywhere. But that's just TPTB being cheap & co-workers being lazy slugs or just too ignorant to ask how to properly do something....

Did I mention I hate the trumpf table?

We have the Chick tables as well. What i wouldn't give to be able to send those things flying down the road.

If i find any info on somehting better i'll post it here. :)

yeah we use the OSI at my facility too. theres lots of pieces and frustrating at times.

we seem to only use it for DHS hips lately, so we just leave already set up. haha

Ours is an extention that we fit on our OR tables, made by Steris/Amsco.

We like it, it's not too heavy, one person could handle it, but usually two work on it. It has lots of attachments, so lots of uses.

My favorite aspect is that it works on any Amsco/Steris table that we have in the OR.

PS we did have a Chick Table. I rather liked it, in an ugly dog sort of way. I thought I would miss it went it went out the door....I was wrong!

Yeah, you gotta love how the chick table looks. Looks like a medieval torture device.

After many years of having the Chick table we went and got the Steris Orthovision table. I like it for it's versatility and it's ease of use. The only drawback is it's weight limitation of 300 pounds. The majority of our patients are very close if not heavier.
